Construction site marketing
The Karlsruhe City Marketing is supporting the Civil Engineering Office in the redesign of Kaiserstrasse since construction began on April 17, 2023, and is also responsible for the accompanying creative construction site marketing. The focus is on measures relating to the respective construction phase – and thus, since October 2025, on the second construction phase between Ritterstraße and Karlstraße in the west and Adlerstraße and Fritz-Erler-Straße in the east.
All planned and already implemented activities are continuously updated here.

Kaiserstraße is currently being completely redesigned as a pedestrian zone:
- Renovation of surfaces and underground infrastructure, including track expansion and renewal of supply lines (gas, water, electricity, etc.)
- Transformation into an attractive and modern pedestrian zone with new paving, trees, seating, and recreational areas
The redevelopment will take place between Karlstraße in the west and Fritz-Erler-Straße in the east and is expected to take several years. The construction area has been divided into two large construction phases, which in turn have been subdivided into different construction stages with alternating construction sites.
In October 2025, construction moved on to the second phase. Since then, work has been underway between Ritterstraße and Karlstraße in the west and Adlerstraße and Fritz-Erler-Straße in the east. A timeline with a site plan is available at www.karlsruhe.de/kaiserstrasse.

The construction site marketing of KME Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH supports the Civil Engineering Office of the City of Karlsruhe during the redesign of Kaiserstrasse. The aim is to provide creative and communicative support for the construction work. As part of the construction site marketing, local companies are regularly and transparently informed about the status of the construction work, and on-site activities are implemented to create a positive experience of the construction site – e.g., events, competitions, art activities, or events for children.
