Tape art -
a construction fence becomes a work of art
Since November 2023
A lot has been happening on Kaiserstrasse since the redesign began in April 2023. Construction is taking place in depth and the surface is being redesigned. At the same time, the Technical Town Hall on Marktplatz is being extensively renovated and the Peek & Cloppenburg area is also currently under construction.
The tape artists from DUMBO AND GERALDwho were commissioned by Citymarketing of KME Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH to decorate the approx. 50 meter long wooden fence on the market square with tape art.
The focus of the design is on the Quartier Marktplatz Carré with its mix of regional retail, gastronomy, and much more. Whether ice cream cones or sandwiches, burgers or fries, cool drinks or tea and coffee beverages, kids' fashion or women's and men's fashion, perfumes or accessories, trendy eyeglass frames or running and training shoes, colorful flowers or tourist information—tape art was used to artistically depict what the Marktplatz Carré has to offer:
The tape art design was a measure of the city marketing as part of the construction site marketing on the occasion of the redesign of Kaiserstraße.
