  • The regular opening hours of stores in Karlsruhe city center vary, but most stores are generally open from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. Some stores, especially smaller stores or specialty stores, may have different opening hours, while larger department stores and shopping centers such as the Ettlinger Tor or the Postgalerie often use the full opening hours. 

    On Sundays when shops are open the stores are usually open between 13:00 and 18:00 .

  • Karlsruhe city center is easily accessible by streetcar. The underground stops "Marktplatz " and "Europaplatz" are the main exit points, from where the shopping streets can be reached quickly and easily. Further information, such as streetcar lines and travel times, can be found on the website of the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV).

  • There are numerous parking options in Karlsruhe city center, both in parking garages and in public parking spaces. An overview of the numerous parking garages you can find here. Central parking garages include the parking garage at the market squareat the Kronenplatz, at the Schlossplatz and the parking garages of GALERIA Karstadt Kaufhof and the Ettlinger Tor Center

    We recommend that you use the parking guidance system to find free parking spaces quickly and easily. You can also use the P&R spaces, some of which are free of charge, e.g. at Karlsruhe Central Station or at Durlach station, and travel to the city center comfortably by train.
