The traditional Hoepfner brewery was founded in 1798, making it one of the oldest still active companies in Karlsruhe. It is still brewed and bottled in the "Hoepfner Burg" in Karlsruhe's Oststadt district, which was built in 1896.

Slow Food at erasmus Karlsruhe
Germany's first organic fine dining restaurant erasmus is located in a listed Bauhaus-style building in Karlsruhe's Dammerstock district. It was awarded the green star for sustainability by Michelin in 2022. Andrea and Marcello Galotti's kitchen combines "Italian software with regional hardware". They use seasonal, certified organic and primarily high-quality regional products. When using meat, attention is paid to "nose to tail", i.e. the whole animal is used. In the adjacent delicatessen store, some of the products you have just tasted, such as pasta, natural wine and olive oil, can be purchased.

The IVY Restaurant - Bar shines with a fine-dining menu and a newly interpreted, innovative crossover cuisine with an international, primarily Asian influence. The Restaurant 1463 is located in Karlsruhe's oldest building, a half-timbered house dating back to 1463 in the Grötzingen district. The Weick family offers regional and seasonal cuisine, much of it organic, both as set menus and à la carte. The cozy courtyard is wonderful in summer and the six apartments are located in an old barn and the outbuilding.

The glass and steel facades of an old sewing machine production facility in the creative environment of the Durlacher RaumFabrik now house the Asian-Fusion Restaurant TAWA YAMA FINE. Green roofs, an uninterrupted view of Karlsruhe's local mountain Turmberg from the rooftop bar, dark accents with marble and velvety dark green as well as the industrial charm of the premises give the restaurant an elegant, modern ambience. The FINE menu is available in 4, 5 or 6 courses, which are also available à la carte and accompanied by fine wines.

Be casual fine dining
In the Restaurant seinlocated in Karlsruhe's Weststadt district, you can simply "be": the name says it all. The tastefully decorated restaurant was awarded one star in the MICHELIN Guide in 2019. This was followed in 2023 by the award of two Michelin stars. Head chef Thorsten Bender offers modern, creative cuisine. The focus is on high-quality products and their excellent preparation. Ingredients are combined in a minimalist yet sophisticated way. Asian-inspired accents can be found time and again, creating successful contrasts. You can choose between two 6-course menus, "querbeet" and "grünzeug", which are occasionally served personally by head chef Thorsten Bender and his kitchen team. At lunchtime, a changing lunch menu with three to four courses is served.
MICHELIN star chef Thorsten Bender runs a second restaurant in addition to his own: The lovingly designed, stylish Bistro Margarete. The food here is regional - the menu features classic and modern dishes. A special highlight of the bistro is the wine list. Guests can choose from a large selection of wines from the region and around the world. In summer, you can sit outside on the courtyard terrace.
