Fun and games around the construction site

On August 26, 2023, KME Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH and the Civil Engineering Office of the City of Karlsruhe invited children to a festival at the market square . Between 12 noon and 6 p.m., exciting hands-on activities for children of different ages were offered under the motto "Fun and games around the construction site." The program was free of charge.

In the children's cooking mobile of the Tischlein Deck Dich e. V. children between the ages of six and ten were able to conjure up hand-sized banana cakes in small groups. The workshops started on the hour, lasted around 45 minutes and were open to ten children at a time.

Those who prefer sports and love the water could prove themselves on the surf simulator, romp around on the inflatable castle " " (The Little Mermaid) provided by the Karlsruhe Sports Youth Association, or cool off in the paddle pool. A professional cosmetician painted children's faces in bright colors, putting smiles on their faces. face painting. The kids were also able to put color on paper themselves in the painting and craft pavilion of Kleine Helden Kinderevents. An XXL Twister and two XXL Connect 4 games also provided fun for young and old alike. And last but not least, a forklift truck course provided a real "construction site feeling."

A sandbox on the corner of Zähringerstraße also offered a construction site feel, but above all a good dose of fun. From Friday afternoon to Sunday evening—and thus beyond the children's festival—children could dig and build to their hearts' content here.

The flower and pyramid market and the "Karlsruhe meets" series of events rounded off the program and provided a marketplace experience for the whole family. 

The children's festival was a measure of the city marketing as part of the construction site marketing on the occasion of the redesign of Kaiserstraße.
