Second hand bridal store Wertvoll® - a second appearance for wedding dresses in Karlsruhe

Since September 1, 2024, there has been a valuable change at Kaiserpassage 4: a place where women are transformed into brides with an innovative concept. The Wertvoll bridal store. On around 70 square meters, the Wertvoll team stocks selected second-hand and outlet wedding dresses and accessories for brides.

"It all started when I wanted to sell my own wedding dress in 2017. All the usual platforms just weren't right for it. I thought to myself, if it's the same for me, maybe it will be the same for others," Anni explains. And so the idea was born. "I put out a call for used wedding dresses that I would accept in order to sell them to new brides. I started in 2018 with my "Brautkleidmobil®", which I used to visit brides-to-be at home," she adds. 2022 saw the opening of the Wertvoll® store in Ispringen. "I'd had my eye on Karlsruhe for a while," she reveals, "the city simply inspires me with its spirit and openness to the topic of sustainability. My modern and innovative concept fits in perfectly."

Anni has a selected range of second-hand wedding dresses in her store at Kaiserpassage 4. "I choose the dresses very carefully. We know our brides and know which trends are important to them. Second-hand does not exclude modernity for us. On the contrary. Some of our dresses can still be found on the rails of the big wedding stores. We also sell these dresses, but at a much lower price," she explains.

Flowing fabrics, delicate lace patterns or a princess's dream of tulle - Wertvoll has an exclusive range that will make wedding hearts beat faster. The range is complemented by high-quality corsages, bridal skirts, veils and lace tops.

"Sustainability is also playing an increasingly important role in weddings. Brides of all ages visit us. They consciously choose second-hand wedding dresses to save money on the one hand and, of course, to reduce their ecological footprint on the other. You have to remember that wedding dresses are usually not even worn for 20 hours," explains Anni.

Wertvoll Brautladen has defined its own criteria according to which the wedding dresses are selected:

• To be able to hand in a wedding dress at Wertvoll, the dress should not be older than five years
• It must be from a well-known wedding dress label
• The dress must have been professionally cleaned
• The original invoice must be available

"If our valuable criteria are met, the dress goes to our bridal store to make a new bride happy as soon as possible," says Anni. Thanks to this pre-selection, around 90% of the wedding dresses accepted can be resold within 6 months.  

"The majority of wedding dresses range between 1,000 and 1,500 euros. Special designer dresses can also cost more, depending on the original price, age and condition," she adds.

In a pleasant atmosphere with a snack bar and drinks, the dress for the most beautiful day of your life can be found in a very private setting with the complete attention of the owner and her team. "Giving brides the feeling of value and giving wedding dresses a second life is the idea behind my brand and my concept, and I live this every day with 100% conviction. This enthusiasm naturally spills over into my team, which now consists of five employees," enthuses Anni.
