Family passion for cakes, pastries and coffee
At the beginning of July 2022, the Winter family opened the doors of their café for the first time. At that time, it was still at Zähringerstraße 88, in the immediate vicinity of Karlsruhe's market square. The opening of the café was the realization of a long-cherished dream: "We had been working on our family concept for several years, testing and improving it. All with the aim of opening a café in the future. When the opportunity to rent a small café in Zähringerstraße in Karlsruhe came up at the beginning of 2022, we didn't have to think twice," says owner Julian Winter. However, they quickly reached the limits of their space and the desire to expand the café grew. A year later, on July 15, 2023, the new location at Adlerstraße 32 opened: "We are so happy about the extra space. Now we also have a kitchen where we can prepare sandwiches and salads," says Winter.
The special thing about the café is that it is still a project for the whole family. And you can feel it! From the homemade delicacies to the interior design and floral decorations - there is a lot of family love here! "As a family, as a team, we are very lucky that we complement each other extremely well," says Julian Winter happily.
Everyone has their own area of expertise in the café in which they can put their passion and heart and soul.

With the new location in Adlerstraße, close to Lidellplatz, Winter now has indoor seating as well as seating in front of the café in summer. The café invites you to linger in comfort and impresses with its warm and modern interior. "Our internal guiding principle is: everyone who comes into contact with our café should feel good. Whether it's customers, producers, the environment or our partners. For example, we only use fair and directly traded coffee beans from small coffee farms. We are increasingly focusing on vegan cuisine and using high-quality organic products for our delicacies," says Winter.
"My mom and my girlfriend bake everything for the café themselves. So every pastry or cake comes straight from our kitchen at home," reveals the owner.
The selection on the drinks menu ranges from coffee classics such as
- Espresso
- Cappuccino
- Latte Macchiato
- Flat White
to homemade lemonade and iced tea, as well as ice-cold delicacies such as iced latte or cold brew for particularly hot days. Another real highlight for customers is the ice chocolate, especially in summer temperatures, says Winter. A mix of regional organic milk, organic cocoa, coconut blossom sugar, topped with Demeter vanilla ice cream - simply good and delicious!

The Winter family also has other special creations planned for the future: In addition to the popular Cold Orange Tonic, a freshly squeezed orange juice with tonic and a fruity cold brew, all coffee specialties are also available as iced variants - especially in summer. "Batch-brew filter coffee is also available as the coffee of the week. A new coffee bean is used every week and guests are given interesting information about the type of coffee, aromas and country of origin," explains Winter.
