Breakfast hotspot & stylish bar in the evening: Mama's Café and Bar

Directly opposite the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruheat Hans-Thoma Straße 3, the young managing director Jonas Pfäffle and two other co-owners have fulfilled a dream and created a very special location for a cozy getaway: Mama's Café and Bar.

Delicious breakfast, changing lunch dishes and homemade cakes from mom

Mama's serves a delicious breakfast selection from 9 a.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. on Sundays. At lunchtime, the café offers changing lunch dishes that are freshly prepared. Here the eye definitely eats with you, because every plate is presented with a lot of love and skill.

But the name of the café says it all: all the cakes and pastry specialties are home-made by Jonas Pfäffle's Mama. The native Austrian, who worked in a patisserie for many years, conjures up heavenly cake dreams, cookies and cupcakes for the people of Karlsruhe. "The vision and idea for Mama's had been around for a while. When we found the location in Hans-Thoma Straße, it quickly became clear to us that this was the perfect place for us," explains the owner. With great attention to detail, Mama's gradually came to life here.

The front entrance area is characterized by a bright and cosy breakfast atmosphere. This is also where the heart of the café is located: the "La Marzzoco Strada" coffee machine. The grass wall and the neon "Mama's" lettering not only create a trendy atmosphere, they also invite you to take photos for social media. Barista sommelier Jonas Pfäffle focuses on the highest quality and craftsmanship for the hot drinks, and you can taste it! Add a slice of Mama's cake and the cozy time-out is perfect.

A new address in the Karlsruhe bar scene

In the evening, Mama's Café transforms into Mama's Bar. Lounge music, indirect lighting and sparkling drinks ring in the after-work hours. Whether wines from Italy, France or Germany or Mama's Spritz, Mama's Berry or champagne, the team will spoil you with quality here too. A special highlight is the "wine wall", where guests can immortalize themselves with their emptied Miraval bottle, a French rosé wine, and sign it: "That's another special extra and the individual touch that we want to bring to this location," says Pfäffle.

Mom's future in Karlsruhe

"We still have lots of ideas and surprises for our guests," reveals Pfäffle. The team wants to realize one of them for Christmas and transform the cosy outdoor area into a small Christmas market with its own mulled wine and Kaiserschmarren.
