For over 55 years, "Schmuck + Kunst Nitzschke" was a sought-after address in Karlsruhe for exclusive jewelry and custom-made pieces. At just 19 years of age, Peter Nitzschke opened his first store, which was located on Kaiserstraße at the time. On April 3, 2018, the master goldsmith handed over his business on Waldstraße to his long-time employee Maximilian Dauber. 

Aesthetics, elegance, quality, and uniqueness are the pillars on which Goldschmiede Dauber stands. "It is important to us to design individual pieces of jewelry, offer customers special custom-made items, and realize their wishes," explains the new owner Maximilian Dauber. Like Peter Nitzschke, Maximilian Dauber trained as a goldsmith in Pforzheim and was taken on by Nitzschke immediately after completing his training. Now, more than ten years later, 30-year-old Maximilian Dauber is taking over the reins and renaming "Schmuck + Kunst Nitzschke" as Goldschmiede Dauber in downtown Karlsruhe.

The centerpiece of the owner-operated business is the in-house workshop, which is adjacent to the store. "We can design and craft jewelry directly with our customers here," explains Dauber. The latest technologies and equipment also enable quick repairs and customization directly on site. Nitzschke's large selection of high-quality gemstones, as well as the finest materials such as gold, silver, wood, and carbon, enhance the individual custom-made pieces created to meet customer requirements.

The store itself stocks brands such as Ratius, TW Steel, and Rolf Cremer, with Victorinox and Monomer being the latest additions. Brooches, bracelets, necklaces, watches, and rings fill the store's display cases and cover every price range. Nitzschke also offers steel jewelry in a variety of designs for young customers under the "Ernstes Design" brand.

Like Peter Nitzschke, Maximilian Dauber also focuses on craftsmanship and, above all, customer proximity. From the customer's initial idea and thoughts to the designs and production, the managing director supports his customers as a strong partner and carries out the work directly on site. Creativity and passion are what characterize Maximilian Dauber's work. Rings are particularly important to him. "Rings have always fascinated me. Whether men's or women's rings, simple or striking – you can do so much with rings, and this piece of jewelry is becoming increasingly popular, especially for men," says Dauber. 
Despite the change of ownership, the values at Nitzschke remain the same and are being continued by Maximilian Dauber. The store on Waldstraße will continue to serve as a gallery, offering young artists a space to exhibit their work.
