Klaus Gröhbühl's record store has been located at Kreuzstraße 31, between the Kammer- and Staatstheater, within walking distance of Lidellplatz, since 1985. "In the beginning, I sold records at flea markets. But it soon became clear that I wanted to move into a permanent store," says the owner, recalling the beginnings of DisCover.

An assortment of records that makes Karlsruhe music lovers' hearts beat faster

It can be found on 65 square meters: the musical realm of music lover Klaus Gröhbühl. And it really leaves nothing to be desired. No less than 30,000 used LPs, 6,000 new LPs, 3,000 used 12″ and lots of 7″ vinyl, 50 new CDs, 5,000 used CDs and 50 maxi CDs are part of the DisCover range. Here, Karlsruhe residents can indulge themselves and deepen their own taste in music or get to know new genres: "Music makes you happy - you hear so much bad news, so it's nice to be able to dive into another world and let your mind wander," enthuses Luna, who works in the record store together with the owner.

Old music hands and record newbies will find their records here

When you enter the store at Kreuzstraße 31, the shelves and displays full of records look very impressive. Elvis Presley cavorts alongside Beyonce and the Beatles meet the three question marks. Browse, indulge, discover. You can spend some time here and get advice from Luna and Klaus' experience or elicit an anecdote or two from them. "Over the years, we've amassed a large assortment on our 65 square meters - that makes me proud, of course, and I'm happy every time I see this large collection," says Gröhbühl.
