Turmberg Tower – 128 extra steps for the best view

If you’re not done yet after visiting the terrace, there are over 128 more steps leading up to the observation deck of the Turmberg Tower. Once you reach the top, your climb will be rewarded with a panoramic view stretching across Karlsruhe and the entire Rhine Valley—and on a clear day, even as far as the Palatinate. 

The tower itself has been open again since June 13, 2025: daily from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from April 16 to October 14, and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the rest of the time.

Turmberg is not only a place to relax, but also an ideal starting point for anyone who enjoys being active. The “AugenBlick-Runde Karlsruhe Rittnert” hiking trail winds through the natural landscape surrounding the mountain; the “naturRADtour” lets you explore the area at a leisurely pace by bike; and at the Karlsruhe Forest Rope Course, you can swing from platform to platform among the trees.
