Herrenstraße

Shopping A–Z

Herrenstrasse spans from the southern edge of the Karlsruhe Palace to Karlstor on Karlstraße. You can find an A–Z of shops among cultural heritage sites and court buildings, as well as the Federal Court of Justice. You can find everything from A-line skirts to zebra-print couch cushions at the shops along Herrenstraße, as well as everything a well-organised jewellery box, household or wardrobe could ever need.

Herrenstraße is a street for shopping and culture and is home to the entire spectrum of shops, as well as the Kammertheater. If you follow Herrenstraße from south to north, you will pass some of Karlsruhe’s most important buildings, such as the Federal Court of Justice. All visitors can find a colourful blend of independent shops and well-known brands along the fan-shaped street. The cultural impact of Herrenstraße is also reflected in the retailers represented here; it’s no wonder that you see antique shop after antique shop along this road.

In other words, it is the perfect shopping street for shopaholics and collectors of very special rarities.

Important Information

Due to the official measures implemented by the State of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Karlsruhe to limit the spreading of COVID-19, Karlsruhe’s public life is currently facing severe restrictions. Cultural institutions, hotels and events are especially affected by this. Please refer directly to their individual websites for up-to-date information.

The City’s shopping facilities are also very limited at the moment. Only essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies or banks remain open to the public. Opening times may vary from those advertised on this site.
