A colourful church square
Kirchplatz St. Stephan frames the St. Stephan Catholic church and is situated centrally, directly opposite Baden’s State Library and the well-known Friedrichsplatz.
The church square is the perfect meeting point for families with children or for a theatre date.
Since it was expanded to include a children’s playground and fountain in 2005, the Kirchplatz St. Stefan has served as a sociable meeting point for families with children in particular. However, the Kirchplatz also has a lot of options for night owls wanting a night on the town. The Kammertheater and traditional restaurants offer everything you need for a successful evening in Karlsruhe. Just like Friedrichsplatz, the Kirchplatz St. Stephan is the venue for a number of events – for a long time, the square has been home to the Kinderland children’s section of the Karlsruhe Weihnachtsstadt Christmas market with a fairy-tale tour, a miniature railway, and plenty of food stands. The colourful church square is also dedicated to the little ones for other events, including the Karlsruher Stadtfest, the Frühlingsauftakt Spring Festival, and the FEST DER SINNE.
