Karlsruher Gastro - Sustainable enjoyment
The sustainability concepts of the Karlsruhe restaurateurs are convincing and inspiring
Sustainability and the conscious use of resources are more important than ever these days - even in Karlsruhe. Those who already live in an environmentally conscious and resource-saving way at home naturally want to continue this outside their own four walls. The people of Karlsruhe are therefore delighted that more and more restaurants and cafés in the fan-shaped city are also focusing on their ecological footprint or at least taking a step in this direction.
Sustainable enjoyment in the heart of Karlsruhe's fan-shaped city - regional suppliers, boxes for the organic waste garbage can and species protection
In the city center of Karlsruhe DeliBurgers has been demonstrating the importance of sustainability and quality by sourcing its products from regional suppliers since 2015. Owner Lukas Möller has managed to source all producers from within a radius of 100 kilometers. Among the suppliers include, among others Fächerbräu or the Lörz bakery. The restaurant sources its meat from Glasstetter butcher's shop, potatoes for the fries from Böhm potato farm from the Palatinate and tea from Wilkendorf's tea house.
Also at Burgerheart Managing Director Dennis Kostorz is proud of the implementation of numerous sustainability concepts: "We pay attention to sustainable solutions both in the restaurant and for our deliveries. Our delivery staff use state-of-the-art e-bikes, which reduce emissions in city traffic. We also pack our burgers and fries in biodegradable boxes that can simply be disposed of in the organic waste garbage can," he reports. Other points that Burgerheart includes in the sustainability concept concept are: Glass instead of plastic for straws, short transportation routes, as well as supporting local agriculture. Burgerheart also places a strong focus on animal welfare.
At Wilma Wunder, the whole team lives by three core values: "Togetherness, mindfulness and enjoyment" and focuses on both regionality and sustainable forms of husbandry: "As bees fulfill an essential function for our ecosystem, we also want to make our contribution to their preservation and protection and source regional blossom honey from "beeswe.love" in Keltern. 100% nature that you can taste.
We also attach great importance to responsible and sustainable chicken farming in Germany - with plenty of fresh air, high-quality feed and short transportation routes. Because the best enjoyment starts with happy chickens!
