Since April 2025, Mikro has been delighting customers with a wide variety of coffee drinks and after-work drinks
Mikro Café und Bar opened at Sophienstraße 64, on the corner of Reinhold-Frank-Straße, on April 4, 2025. Owner Pantelis now serves the finest coffee specialties, wines, cocktails and long drinks here.
During the day, Mikro in Karlsruhe is all about coffee - at a special price in the morning
"I spent eight years looking for a suitable location in Karlsruhe to realize my dream of opening my own restaurant. When I saw the premises here in Sophienstraße, I knew immediately that I wanted to open Mikro here," says owner Pantelis Samartzidis.
"I spent four months rebuilding and renovating everything myself until it was exactly how I imagined it," reveals Pantelis. The result is a cozy café with indoor seating and an outdoor area where the people of Karlsruhe can enjoy the sun. Especially with one of the finest coffee specialties in hand:
I work together with the roasting plant from Albtal and we worked on it for a long time until the coffee turned out exactly as I imagined it. And now we have our own coffee in use here at Mikro

Freddo coffee specialties and tarte flambée at Café Mikro in Karlsruhe
From latte macchiato to latte and espresso, Mikro's menu naturally includes all the popular coffee classics. An absolute insider tip, even far beyond the city limits, are the Freddo specialties from Pantelis. These are coffee drinks with ice cream and cold frothed milk. "It's the number one favorite drink here in Greece and I'm delighted to now be able to offer it in Karlsruhe too," says Pantelis. He also has tarte flambée and baguettes ready for hungry guests. The Greek-style tarte flambée with pepperoni and white cheese is particularly popular.
Lounge & sparkling cocktails at Mikro in Karlsruhe's Sophienstraße
In the evening, the Mikro is transformed into a trendy lounge with sparkling cocktails and hip beats: "Whether as a way to wind down after a day at work or to get in the mood for the weekend - our lounge offers a great opportunity to enjoy a variety of drinks in a convivial atmosphere in the evening," says Pantelis.
The drinks menu then includes cocktail classics such as
