Ice cream parlor Cassata

Cassata Ice Cream Parlor in Karlsruhe’s Oststadt neighborhood stands out for its creative and unique offerings. In addition to vanilla, stracciatella, and chocolate, they also offer seasonal flavors as well as special house creations. One of these is the “Karlsruher Asphalt.” This is a vanilla ice cream that gets its gray color from squid ink. And for fluffy companions, there’s a special flavor: dog ice cream. You can also have your own custom ice cream cake .

In 2018, the ice cream parlor won the semi-finals of the Gelato Festival in Berlin and therefore reached the final of the 2021 Ice Cream World Championships in Florence. They achieved an outstanding 5th place.

Tiramisù ice cream parlor

The Tiramisù ice cream parlor is located on Ludwig-Erhardt-Allee in Karlsruhe's Südstadt district.

The ice cream parlor is particularly popular for its namesake tiramisù ice cream. But of course there is also a wide range of other ice cream flavors, including new varieties such as "Cubana" or "Ricotta/Apricot/Poppy Seed". There is also an environmentally conscious attitude, so deposit ice cream tubs are also available, which can be used, cleaned and then returned in exchange for the deposit or refilled directly.

Cortina ice cream

Eis Cortina on Kaiserstrasse has been around for about 60 years and is owned by the Grava couple. In addition to Eis Cortina, the family business also includes the Tiramisù ice cream parlor in Oststadt and Dammerstock.  Tiramisù was founded by their daughter in 2009. Eis Cortina stands out with a large and diverse selection of top-quality ice cream flavors. Another advantage is its central location in downtown Karlsruhe near the market square, making it easy to grab a quick ice cream to cool off during a shopping trip.

You can also find this unique ice cream experience right in downtown Karlsruhe, on Lammstraße. The ice cream shop makes its ice cream fresh in-house, placing great emphasis on natural and regional ingredients. The menu also includes dairy-free ice cream made with soy, coconut, rice, or oat milk. They offer a rotating selection of creative flavors, such as Salted Caramel, Strawberry-Mint, Super Duper Chocolate, Lemon-Basil, and many more varieties.

It’s a great spot for a short bike ride, and you can stop by the ice cream shop as a pit stop or final destination to grab a quick bite. In addition to ice cream, they also offer tarte flambée, pizza, and other treats.

Marie ice cream

You’ll find ice cream that’s truly outstanding in the truest sense of the word on Martin-Luther-Straße in Karlsruhe Grötzingen. In 2012, the owners of Eis Marie received the gold medal for theirvanilla ice creamat the “European Championship of Gelato.” For over 80 years, you’ve been able to enjoy natural, delicious ice cream at the region’s oldest ice cream maker. Thanks to its central location in Grötzingen, a visit to Eis Marie is particularly well-suited for a cycling trip to the Pfinztal.

Yollie - the Popice Café

If you're looking for that special vacation vibe, you'll find it at Yollie – the Popice Café. Popice are popsicles made almost entirely from fruit! The popsicles are mostly vegan and contain little to no sugar. The flavors are diverse and unique, such as strawberry-mint, carrot-apple, cucumber-lemon, or mango-coconut. With the YOLLIE (pronounced “jolly”) shop on Südliche Waldstraße, there’s a permanent location right in the heart of Karlsruhe. The refreshing POPICE is also available in several stores in Karlsruhe and the surrounding area (e.g., at Fettschmelze, at the restaurant “Anders auf dem Turmberg”…). For a cool treat at home, you can easily order POPICE in boxes of 10, 20, or 30.

There are many more ice cream parlors in Karlsruhe. With so many to choose from in Karlsruhe, our tip is to try out one or two new ice cream parlors or varieties and decide for yourself where you can best enjoy the delicious ice cream!
