Südliche Waldstraße is once again inviting visitors to a special experience for all generations as part of the "Festival of the Senses". Visitors can look forward to an interactive journey of discovery along the entire street. Numerous participating stores lovingly create sensory stations based around the five senses - hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and feeling.

Stamp hunt with prize

Those who actively participate in the stations can collect stamps. All participants with a fully stamped card will receive a small prize.

Experience diversity

In addition to the sensory stations, visitors can expect a lively mix of live music, culinary offerings, creative activities and special insights into the stores on the street.

Sensory stations "Feel"

At glore Karlsruhe, there will be a "touch" station where visitors can feel materials and fabrics and collect their "touch" stamp. A table will be set up in front of the store with boxes containing the various materials to be guessed.

Riddle of the senses: What do you feel on your back?
You can sharpen your senses at this sensory booth. You will be asked to close your eyes and guess what is touching your back. Various objects and materials with different textures, shapes and temperature differences are used. The sense of touch is stimulated in an entertaining way.

For the first event after the opening at the new location, el corazon presents a world of pleasure to discover. Your sense of smell and taste is in demand here! Selected delicacies and specialties will be presented at the same time.

Customers can discover and experience exclusive fragrances in front of the store, while selected products are presented inside. At the "Smell" sensory station, you can immerse yourself in fascinating worlds of fragrance. All guests can capture the moment and have themselves stylishly staged in front of a flower photo wall.

Experience a feast for the senses where the focus is on enjoyment. Exciting product presentations await you in front of the store. In the studio, high-quality materials can not only be seen, but also felt and tasted at various stations.

Hearing" sensory station

At the listening sensory station, you can immerse yourself in a wonderful world of sound. In the store, customers can try to distinguish between the sounds of wooden and metal instruments.

Neighborhood impulse Stephanplatz 

Art installation "FLORA MOMENTUM" | May to August 2025

Opposite Stephanplatz, an art installation with seating will become the new link between Südliche Waldstraße and Ludwigsplatz.

The interdisciplinary art installation FLORA MOMENTUM by Hannah Cooke, Jannik Lang and Norina Quinte (ato), which can be seen on Stephanplatz until the end of August, is the central starting point of the Quartiersimpuls. At the center of the installation are the lenticular images "Postbotanical Growths" by Hannah Cooke, who uses artificial intelligence to create visionary medicinal plants - inspired by traditional plants such as turmeric, garlic or ginkgo. With its integrated seating, the art installation offers a place to linger.

The work was conceived by the Karlsruhe and Berlin artists' collective ato.

Creative workshops for children & families | Saturday from 11:00 a.m. | Sunday from 1:00 p.m.

To kick off the neighborhood impulse, three creative hands-on workshops on herbs, flowers and imaginative design invite you to discover at the Festival of the Senses. Children and families can create, learn and enjoy together - free of charge and without registration.

A coffee bike and an ice cream van will be on hand with fresh coffee and delicious ice cream for a little refreshment in between.
