Galerie Elwert - contemporary art and individual framing made to measure

Joachim Elwert has succeeded in establishing his gallery on Waldstraße 95, in the heart of Karlsruhe city center, has made a name for himself beyond the city limits. In 1949, his father opened the first frame shop in Baden-Baden. In 1981, he took over the business himself and opened his gallery in 1986. Karlsruhe has always been close to his heart, especially the southern part of Waldstraße, where he moved his gallery in 2009. In November 2022, he moved one door down to new premises, which now offer him four times as much space and six more shop windows. The gallery owner is thrilled and delighted to be able to present the artworks even better now.

Custom-made frames in Karlsruhe for individual needs

With a huge selection of picture frames and passe-partouts in all colors and materials, the Galerie Elwert is a highly sought-after address in Karlsruhe when it comes to custom framing. Exclusively in the region, frame moldings can be spray-painted in over 30 colors in the gallery's own workshop.

Whether pictures on canvas or paper, a child's handmade work of art, a wedding photo or even something unusual like a pacemaker - Joachim Elwert makes everything possible with individual framing.

In addition to a variety of wooden and aluminum frames, there are also handmade unique frames with silver, gold or platinum plating - Joachim Elwert and his team take their time to get the best out of a work of art.

Just like Mascha De Haas, a young Dutch artist, who has created an artistic interpretation of the Chanel perfume bottle N° 5 in her own unique way, fascinating visitors to the gallery.
