Loneliness was yesterday - the Kulturküche is today. The concept, which was implemented at Kaiserstraße 47 in Karlsruhe, brings people together and invites them to exchange ideas - with a regional, seasonal lunch at a fair price.

The Kulturküche in Karlsruhe - the network concept since 2019

The Kulturküche has been located on the premises of the Alte Seilerei since 2019 and, in addition to a delicious lunch, offers above all the opportunity to get in touch with people, take part in workshops or simply network. "The idea came about during an evening together, when Hossein Fayazpour and I decided to set up a new concept. He has a background in gastronomy, I have a background in culture - the idea of Kulturküche as a place to meet and enjoy Gneiss was quickly born," explains Sarah Tzitzikos, co-founder of Kulturküche. To this day, the concept is made up of three areas: Art and culture in the form of exhibitions, concerts and theater. Sustainability - both in the food on offer and in the projects. And social issues, such as professional integration, civic participation and volunteering.

A place for Karlsruhe residents to come together

Built in 1723, the Alte Seilerei building is the perfect place to offer a special platform in the middle of Karlsruhe with its traditional charm. The focus of the lunch menu is on high quality, regional sourcing and fair trade. Selling at cost price makes the lunch offer attractive even for those on a budget.

However, the highlight of the Kulturküche is undoubtedly the exchange with people from all over Karlsruhe. Whether on the subject of cooking, sustainability or other topics that are of personal interest to you - you will always find a sympathetic ear here. The Kulturküche is non-denominational and politically independent and is open to all generations. "We also offer inclusive jobs and are particularly strong in this area," emphasizes Sarah.
