Opened in December 2019, the espresso bar has been synonymous for several years now with the finest coffee specialties, moments of indulgence, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. “Our bar and cucina is small but exquisite, and our goal is to bring a little piece of Italy to the people of Karlsruhe on Waldstraße,” explains owner Gabie. “That includes a coffee with a homemade cornetto in the morning or an Aperol Spritz in the evening,” she adds.

The highlights in the summer are the two outdoor areas: cozy seating in front of the espresso bar with a view of Südliche Waldstraße, and the cozy courtyard shaded by trees. “It’s important to us that everyone feels comfortable here and has a good time—whether it’s a quick espresso in the morning, a lunch with colleagues, or an after-work drink with friends,” says Helmuth Ostermeier. Every lunchtime, he whips up the daily specials right before guests’ eyes in his small kitchen, located directly inside the espresso bar.

"Our premises can also be booked for private parties and events. Civil weddings and small-scale Christmas parties, for example, are very popular," says Gabie. All kinds of unusual catering can also be booked at the Espressobar. The two owners are always coming up with special events for the people of Karlsruhe: "We recently had the Gastrohopping here in the southern Waldstraße, where a number of restaurateurs joined forces and presented a menu sequence in the respective locations. Or our regulars' wine table with exquisite wines," says Helmuth. On Wednesdays from 18:00, the Aperoo attracts guests to the espresso bar with various culinary highlights.
