Did you know that KA had an airport for civil aviation between 1925 and 1939? Despite a low of only 847 passengers in 1933, the airport underwent major expansion in 1934. The new terminal building with a restaurant, the control tower with a weather station, the aircraft repair hangar, the Reich Sports Aviation School, and a machine-gun bunker still stand today at the Old Airfield.
