The site-specific exhibition explores the sculpture garden as a former “workshop” for craftsmen, as documented by Weinbrenner. It draws on this history to examine the concept of authorship in architecture.
This site-specific exhibition explores the history of the “
” Sculpture Garden at the Academy of Fine Arts as the former “Zimmer Platz,” a specialized workspace for carpenters. The site was designated as such on a map drawn by Friedrich Weinbrenner in the early 19th century.
The project represents an attempt to reclaim this former use of the site in order to dissolve the concept of authorship in architecture, thereby proposing alternative approaches to viewing the architectural process.
