Their third album "Boy In A Well" was released last summer - like its excellent predecessor "American Man" (2015) - on the legendary Chicago label Bloodshot Records. A record company that has been exploring the boundaries between rock, alternative and country since the mid-1990s, combining extremely tasty acts such as Ryan Adams with promising newcomers. As a band, The Yawpers also differ from the usual rock line-up as, like the White Stripes, they do without bass. The band consists of the particularly nimble drummer Noah Shomberg, an electric guitarist who is trained in both blues and metal, Jesse Parmet, and frontman Nate Cook, who plays guitar and sings, sometimes like Elvis, sometimes like Lux Interior (the late singer of the Cramps), sometimes like Jack White (the man behind the White Stripes). The band pursues a very expansive vision of rock roll, one that takes up and mixes in a wide variety of traditions: folk, punk, rockabilly, alternative country, garage rock, blues - whatever you can find.
