Afrotropism Tour
"One of the best Afrojazz bands in the world comes from Copenhagen!" wrote the Kieler Nachrichten newspaper in 2016, as did other renowned international authors. The internationally renowned jazz musicians had already appeared on the Copenhagen scene three years earlier; they had been brought together by their shared fascination for West African music, especially the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti. But Ornette Coleman and Charles Mingus, whose name also appears in the band name, are also formative influences on the two band leaders and composers Michael Blicher and Gustav Rasmussen.
