Swabian rock at its finest!
Starting a Swabian rock band in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, is a risky venture. But blasting out guitar riffs like they did 40 years ago in Stuttgart youth club basements and belting out songs like "Oinr isch emmer dr Arsch" (One is always the asshole) or "I muss die Stroßaboh no kriega" (I have to get the street back) is worth the risk. After all, the songs of "Schwoißfuaß" and "Wolle Kriwanek" should be heard throughout the whole state!
The musicians of "Stroßaboh" – now all civil servants (senior) teachers and professors – know firsthand the balancing act their role models perform between the wild life "on tour" and "in the classroom."
As "Schwoißfuaß" singer Alex Köberlein knew: "And when you get old anyway, and it's always just music, there's no pension."
Overall, however, the evening is all about international understanding and cultural education – there is Trollinger wine, Dinkelacker beer, and many interesting anecdotes from the lives of the Swabian rock heroes. And, of course, a few verbal notes have to be made....
