Trick or treat: The Karlsruhe Schlossgartenbahn invites you to take a spooky train ride on Halloween.
On Friday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to around 6 p.m., passengers of all ages can take a ride on the "Bähnle" through the park and get in the mood for the upcoming spooky night.
The early rides are particularly suitable for daycare centers (reserved rides are preferred). The train, which is pulled by a red diesel locomotive, is lovingly decorated with Halloween motifs and starts its "spooky rides" at the station behind the Botanical Gardens. The ride on the approximately 2.5-kilometer circuit through the autumnal greenery takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
Since last year, Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) has been offering this special trip on Halloween. "The whole team at the Schlossgartenbahn is looking forward to this day. There's something magical about Halloween - and that's exactly the feeling we want to pass on with our spooky ride through the Schlossgarten. It's great to see children getting on board with shining eyes and adults being enchanted by the autumnal atmosphere. Our train is decorated with a lot of love and we are looking forward to immersing ourselves in the Halloween atmosphere together with our passengers," says Mary Joyce from VBK, who runs the Schlossgartenbahn.
The Schlossgartenbahn season officially runs until November 2nd. Until then, the Schlossgartenbahn will run at the following times - with the exception of special trips on Halloween:
- Saturday (diesel locomotive: 12 to 19 hrs; last trip at 18:30 hrs)
- Sundays and public holidays (steam locomotive "Greif"): 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; last trip at 6:30 p.m.
