Framed by atmospheric light installations, the
Modern Church Band from Karlsruhe plays many cheerful, but also contemplative classics of pop and gospel music that set the mood for the upcoming Christmas season. In addition to the interpretation of the melodies, the focus is on the translation of their lyrics, which reveals the power of the composition and message. The band takes the audience on a journey of beautiful sounds, stories and voices.
With a five-piece brass section, a large rhythm section and a vocal ensemble, the Modern Church Band interprets the songs in an inspiring way between soul, swing, blues and rock, but also with symphonic elements.
The two vocal soloists Susanne Kunzweiler, also a long-standing soloist with the Karlsruhe Police Music Corps, and Anny Maleyes, a nationally popular wedding singer, lend the concert a very special power and expressiveness that is rarely seen in this versatility.
As always, the band performs on a voluntary basis (no fee). The concert is supported by the
Karlsruher Weihnachtscircus and the
Volksbank pur. All proceeds from ticket sales will therefore go to the
BNN fundraising campaign "Wir helfen" (We help), which has been helping needy Karlsruhe residents and their families for decades.
