Panel discussion on "Hydrogen - energy carrier of the future in a global context
Panel discussion with the experts Dr. Boniface Mabanza Bambu (Werkstatt Ökonomie e.V.) and Prof. Dr. Martin Wietschel (Fraunhofer ISI)
Hopes for green hydrogen as a clean energy source for effective climate protection have grown considerably in recent years. Many projects for the production of green hydrogen are currently being planned in the Global South. Large quantities of this hydrogen are to be exported to the Global North in the future. Is this an opportunity for sustainable development or another colonial continuity in the global economy? These and other questions will be discussed with experts Dr. Boniface Mabanza Bambu (Werkstatt Ökonomie e.V.) and Prof. Dr. Martin Wietschel (Fraunhofer ISI). Finally, there will be an open Q&A session and a plenary discussion with the audience.
About GloW Karlsruhe e.V.
GloW stands for "GlobalLearning - Shaping Change". The non-profit association acts as an extracurricular learning location in Karlsruhe for education for sustainable development (ESD) with a special focus on global learning. The location where the workshops are held is in Südweststadt (SteamWork, Roonstraße 23a).
The association offers educational programs in the form of workshop packages for primary and secondary schools. With topics such as "The climate is what you eat", pupils learn more about global connections and the social and ecological impact of their consumption decisions. Over the course of the workshop, participants are encouraged and guided to develop and try out ways of shaping a sustainable world.
GloW also organizes public events, such as the annual day of action in conjunction with local initiatives or the Kleiderei.
