This Sunday, we want to revive the musical gardening format that has been extremely popular in the past two years: Balkan, Klezmer, Americana and Swing Noir - the Black Sea Shipping Company brings light cargo to the ZELTIVAL garden. These are old and new songs, blown over from dreams or from long, waking nights. Sometimes from the East, sometimes from the West, in foreign or familiar tongues - English, Yiddish, Bulgarian, Romani, ... It can sound calm and enigmatic, then again rough and moving - or as exuberant as raucous nights dancing the night away in a harbor pub. Black Sea Shipping Company is the new band founded in 2021 by four musicians from the former Balkan klezmer gypsy swing band Chupchik. They combine the well-known Chupchik ingredients with Americana, ragtime and vaudeville to create a unique grooving swing noir. Black Sea Shipping Company are Thomas Neukirchner (vl, voc), Barbara Kohl (sax, voc), Friedemann Lange (git, voc), Christian Kögele (kb, bj) and Wolfgang Müller (dr).
