In conjunction with the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival, taking place from August 13 to September 13, 2026, public spaces, storefronts, and building facades will be transformed into a digital stage for performances, videos, and interdisciplinary projects under the title “Media Art Is Here.”
This year, the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe is once again presenting media art in the urban space free of charge.
Media art is here is free of charge and accessible to all, which promotes exchange and participation in contemporary media art. The project funding program of the city of Karlsruhe supports artists in the implementation and public presentation of their works, which strengthens the cultural diversity and inclusive character of the city as a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts.
