MEDIA ART GOES PUBLIC
As part of the activities as a UNESCO City of Media Arts, various works by local artists from the field of media and light art will be on display in the Passagehof Reallabor for four weeks from June 2, 2022. The works reflect the diverse possibilities and significance of media art in our city and form the starting point for a dialog between artists and citizens.

Media artworks in the public space make it a new experience and transform it into a place of city culture and urban art. The works exhibited in the Passagehof include: Light Signs by Betty Rieckmann, Seriosity by Benjamin Breitkopf & Kilian Kretschmer/ato and Posteden by Gerardo Nolasco-Rózsás.
Two events organized by the Department of Culture offer a unique opportunity to exchange views on current media art and visions of a sustainable and creative city:
- On Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 7 pm there will be an artist talk with Betty Rieckmann, Benjamin Breitkopf & Kilian Kretschmer/ato and Jonas Denzel in the Passagehof. After the talk, Jonas Denzel's artistic project beambike will make it possible to experience art in public space in a sustainable way.
- On Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 8 p.m., a talk with the artists Gerardo Nolasco-Rózsás, Holger Förterer, Didi Müller and Michael Saup will take place at the Kinemathek Karlsruhe.
