MAXJOSEPH - Folk music reinterpreted
MAXJOSEPH brings a breath of fresh air to new folk music!
The Bavarian band MAXJOSEPH continues its successful run in 2026 and is finally coming to Karlsruhe! The band uses the instrumental lineup of traditional Stubenmusik with a unique combination of violin, Styrian harmonica, guitar, and tuba. In this way, the quartet breaks with classic clichés and creates a synthesis of folk music, jazz, and classical music. Their music is a lively dialogue between tradition and modernity that fascinates listeners.
The focus is on the current program for the album "NAU," with which the band is currently on a major tour. The musicians impress with a dynamic, chamber music-like interweaving that combines elegance with Bavarian down-to-earthness.Â
Maxjoseph stands for a refined, virtuoso style of folk music that dispenses with large amplifiers and instead focuses on genuine, dynamic interplay.
The band's original compositions are characterized by virtuoso arrangements and a palpable joy of playing. They tell stories, are sometimes melancholic, sometimes rousing and rhythmic, and always authentic. Maxjoseph manages to thrill audiences that include both lovers of traditional sounds and fans of sophisticated cross-genre music. Their concerts are more than musical performances; they are experiences that inspire listeners to listen, smile, and reflect. It's no surprise that they have been featured in the culture magazine "Capriccio" and reviewed in detail by the "Süddeutsche Zeitung."Â
