Bertolt Brecht, Clemens Brentano, Joseph von Eichendorff, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Heinrich Heine, Friedrich Hölderlin, Gottfried Keller, Novalis, Theodor Storm and many other important German authors dedicate a considerable part of their lyrical oeuvre to the theme of all themes: They rave about lovers, mourn after break-ups, conjure up eternal love, feel the pain of being spurned and indulge in the highs and lows of togetherness and singleness. Or as Bertolt Brecht put it in his shortest poem: "Weaknesses. You had none. I had one. I loved."
With the play Lyrisches Liebesleid we present an evening full of poetry from 300 years. Set to music, the old texts are brought back to life.
