The installation THE CAGE provides the space for Etni Molletones' flute recital in the Stadtkirche Karlsruhe. It functions both as a cage and a temple, raising questions about freedom, memory, and belonging.
Etni Molletones is currently principal flutist with the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe and the Zurich Opera House. Etni Molletones received his musical training at the Simón BolÃvar Conservatory of Music in Caracas under Prof. VÃctor Rojas and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2016. In 2017, Etni Molletones was accepted into Prof. Mario Caroli's class at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. He completed his studies with honors in 2018. He then continued his studies with Prof. Mario Caroli at the University of Music in Freiburg, where he obtained his master's degree in 2019. Etni Molletones has received numerous prizes at international flute competitions, including the gold medal at the International Berlin Music Competition and first prize at the Jeune Flûtiste International Flute Competition in Paris.Â
