In 1826, the great Karlsruhe classicist architect Friedrich Weinbrenner died at the age of almost 60. Commissioned by his patron Karl-Friedrich, the last Margrave of Baden and first Grand Duke, he transformed the small baroque town into a classicist style while retaining the fan-shaped structure of the town plan. Friedrich Weinbrenner, resurrected in the person of city guide Rüdiger Homberg, invites you to take a walk in 2026, the Weinbrenner Year, to see important inner-city works bearing Weinbrenner's signature.
