Grails/ Support: Expensive Shit

The driving forces behind the band are guitarist Alex John Hall and drummer Emil Amos, who also have numerous side projects. Stylistically diverse on albums such asBurden Of Hope,Doomsdayer's Holiday,Black Tar Prophecies, andChalice Hymnal(on renowned labels such as Neurot and Temporary Residence), Grails explore countless influences and incorporate them into their music.  

On their current work,Miracle Music, they consistently continue down this path. Their support Expensive $hit (aka Paul Quattrone, drummer of the Osees) works with vintage electronic drum pads, samplers, and distortion/delay pedals, mixed with acoustic drums. The result is a hybrid of noisy sounds à la Afrobeat, Krautrock, dub, and extreme noise.
