You’d think the world were coming to an end. Every day we’re confronted with the uncomfortable, the unpleasant, the monstrous. It blares from speakers, flickers across screens, and dominates the headlines. But can that really be all there is? Isn’t there supposed to be some good news for every piece of bad news? Has evil truly triumphed—or is humanity, after all, fundamentally good?
Amid lava lamps, fluffy pillows, “fuck-off” fairies, and optimistic scientists, we give good news the spotlight it deserves. Because on the Good News Show, they’re the stars: Portuguese returnable bottles, Indian researchers, Ugandan gorillas, and European bison are all celebrating together—to mark the breakthroughs, new beginnings, and comebacks of species once thought to be extinct! Together with a glittery version of Gundula Gause and two euphoric correspondents, this performance takes us to the heart of what’s good, finding the best in humanity through art and the most beautiful worlds through music.
Where is that sparkle, that glimmer of hope, that groove hiding? And what might happen if we just let the good things in for one evening?
