The most beautiful nature photographs from all over the world: In summer, the State Museum of Natural History will once again present the winning images of the international nature photography competition Glanzlichter.
The view of nature - perhaps it has become even more valuable in the past year. The exhibition shows the fascination of nature photography with the winning pictures of the international nature photography competition "Glanzlichter".
From the thousands of images that were once again submitted by participants from all over the world, the jury headed by Mara Fuhrmann selected the best nature photos in eight different categories. They will now be presented in the exhibition together with the winning images of the special Fritz Pökling Award and Junior Award.
The "Highlight Nature Photographer 2021" is Fran Rubia from Spain. In the snow-covered Yellowstone National Park, he took a picture of a fox that is obviously hoping to discover possible prey in the snow. The composition and the symbolic power of this image won over the jury.
The "GIanzlichter Young Nature Photographer 2021" is 11-year-old Tim Gerlach from Bad Dürkheim. He was actually looking for birds of prey when he noticed a goosander swimming calmly across the lake in the snow flurries. The black and white processing emphasizes the contrast between the dark water and the snow and thus the wintry atmosphere.
This year's jury consisted of landscape photographer Micha Pawlitzki, biologist, nature photographer and NaturFoto editor-in-chief Hans-Peter Schaub and the organizer of the nature photography competition and nature photographer Mara Fuhrmann. The winning image of the Fritz Pölking Award was selected by Gisela Pölking.
