The "Girls' Day - Girls' Future Day" is a Germany-wide career orientation day for schoolgirls from the 5th grade onwards. It offers the opportunity to get to know professions that are traditionally less likely to be chosen by women.
To counteract prejudices, Girls' Day at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) gives schoolgirls an insight into study programs and training facilities through lectures, workshops and experience reports from employees. The aim is to show the diverse range of careers in areas such as computer science, chemistry and mathematics and to arouse interest in careers in the natural and technical sciences.
KIT and the Equal Opportunities Office cordially invite all female students to participate in Girls' Day. Through the exchange with KIT employees, prejudices against so-called "male domains" are to be broken down and enthusiasm for these occupational fields is to be encouraged.
