Music & words to commemorate victims of the Holocaust / Works by Mahler, Mendelssohn, Korngold
A wonderful tradition continues this year: the memorial concert on November 9 in the Kleine Kirche. In cooperation with the Karlsruhe University of Music and the Youth Academy of the Evangelical Church in Baden, students and young musicians will create an evening of remembrance and encounters. Gunnar Schmidt from the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe will once again perform readings together with pupils from Karlsruhe schools. Music will be provided by the Abanico String Quartet from the University of Music, which will create an impressive, contemplative atmosphere with poignant chamber music by Mahler, Mendelssohn and Korngold. Once again this year, the memorial concert will be an atmospheric event that invites people to pause and remember.
