Children can now learn to fly with playful ease. The INSEL's Theater for the Very Youngest series is open to children from the age of two, their siblings and their families. The new play conveys the phenomenon of gravity in a child-friendly way: once you can fly - spread your arms and off you go. But something keeps us on the ground or gets us back there quickly. The world seen through children's eyes: What is gravity anyway? Why can a bird do what an egg can't? Why does a balloon rise up and a ball fall down? In a loving approach to the fascination of the very youngest, the world premiere embarks on an intuitive journey of discovery with a dose of levity.
Stefanie Heiner's production of The Little Prince has been delighting young and old in the theater since September 2017 and has already inspired over 1,200 schoolchildren in Karlsruhe's classrooms. The director, dance and theater teacher and new director of the Volkstheater is also passionate about creating plays for the very young. She has achieved what this new, pioneering form of theater rarely does: Abräumen für Menschen ab zwei was the first children's play to be nominated for the Thuringian Theater Prize in 2016.
