Tap dance special with the Fun Tappers!
Fächerswing stands for a broad repertoire of danceable, swinging songs. From the 1920s to today, from blues to swing to jazzy interpretations of film music, anything goes, nothing is a must. The musicians from Karlsruhe have set themselves the goal of playing music that gets straight into your legs and makes you want to move.Â
Wherever Fächerswing plays, the dance scene is never far away. The dance of choice is Lindy Hop, the African-American dance that developed alongside swing music in the 1920s and is now enjoying a resurgence in popularity.
In the Scenario Hall at the Tempel Cultural Center, Fächerswing presents groovy classics of swing music, interpreted by Martin Wilhelmi on trombone, Richard Hertel on saxophone, Jonas Stelzer on piano, David Peter on bass, and Lennart Rathgeb on drums.
This time, the program will be complemented by two tap dancers who combine rhythm and dance with their iron-shod shoes: improvising and interacting with the band—something you don't see very often.
