Dragonforce
special guest: NEKROGOBLIKON
DRAGONFORCE are trailblazers in the world of extreme power metal. Celebrated as the fastest band in the world and nominated for a Grammy, the band has had a legendary career. The band was founded in London in 1999 and has been conquering the world ever since!
With exactly 25 years under their belt, Dragonforce can look back on a quarter of a century of band history and several official albums. The first contact with "Valley of The Damned" was in 2003, and a lot has happened in those 20 years. In addition to the fact that the personnel carousel has turned, Dragonforce has undergone a musical reorientation, which is mainly due to the departure of vocalist ZP Theart in 2010. The high-speed metal has remained, even if the new addition of Marc Hudson on the microphone ultimately defined the musical here and now. Amidst all the nostalgia, the recurring video game sound of the 80s should not be forgotten, and cover versions should also be mentioned. But the sheer boundless joy of playing of the guitar whirlwinds Totman and Li is still the backbone of Dragonforce, even after a few lows and even more highs. "Valley Of The Damned" is history, in the end there's no need to re-release a classic album many times over the years and with the new addition of Alicia Vigil on bass and a new deal with Napalm Records, "the fastest band in the world is back".
Dragonforce have taken more time than they wanted. "Warp Speed Warriors" is the follow-up to "Extreme Power Metal", which was released shortly before the coronavirus year 2020. Days went by, months passed and now, after around 5 years, the Brits are back with a new album. Dragonforce are no exception with this forced break, especially since other bands also used the time to give the comeback album a special touch. This also applies to the band led by Herman Li, who picked up exactly where they left off in 2019 with "Warp Speed Warriors". Only better!
Live in Karlsruhe in August, with Nekrogoblikon!
