Divide and Dissolve consists primarily of Takiaya Reed. She is black and Cherokee, and focuses on the theme of indigenous sovereignty in her music. After two first albums, she switched to Invada Records and released the fantastic album "Gas Lit" (2021) with her typical extremely dense sound, which suddenly becomes heavy and interweaves percussion, piano and synths with her guitar and saxophone playing and is accompanied live only by a drummer. Their songs have been remixed by Moor Mother and Chelsea Wolfe, among others. Divide and Dissolve have played various festivals and recently released the album "Systemic". In addition to soundtracks for fashion shows and a show at Berghain, they toured with Chelsea Wolfe and played at the Venice Biennale. In their luggage they have the brand new album "Insatiable" on Bella Union Records.
