Dinner for one with songs
"Same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie? - Same procedure as every year, James." Since 1963, Miss Sophie has been celebrating her 90th birthday on New Year's Eve on German television, lovingly looked after by butler James. Various invisible gentlemen and the inevitable carpet tiger are also part of the party. On stage at the STAATSTHEATER, the classic is live and in color - and instead of James, it is now Jimmy, his son, who wants to give Miss Sophie an unforgettable evening and express his secret love for the old lady. But there are also the other gentlemen - Sir Toby, Admiral von Schneider, Mr. Pommeroy and Mr. Winterbottom - who are still very much alive in Miss Sophie's memory and give Jimmy a run for his money. Will he succeed in conquering Miss Sophie? He is helped by Elvis Costello, Michael Jackson, Chet Baker, Joe Cocker, Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra - and of course Birdy on the piano. But Miss Sophie also has her secrets, which she knows how to express with "Besame Mucho", Edith Piaf or even Madonna. Will they both dare to say "something as stupid" as "I love you" to each other in the end? We'll try our very best!
After the great success of the first performance on New Year's Eve 2012, Dinner for One with Songs was added to the regular repertoire.
