based on Morton Rhue and Ron Jones
That couldn't happen here today. Or could it? To illustrate the rise of National Socialism in Germany, history teacher Ben Ross decides to conduct an experiment with his class. He wants to show them how fascist systems – supposedly far removed from our reality – can emerge. But what begins as an experiment quickly becomes dangerous...
The Wave is a clever story about how easily we can be influenced. How it starts small and soon becomes uncontrollable. About how quickly it can be too late. What motivates us to exchange our critical thinking for a specific group affiliation? What do we gain by excluding, humiliating, and disenfranchising others? And what happens when no one finds the courage to raise their voice and object? Morton Rhue's world-famous novel The Wave is becoming increasingly relevant in today's political situation.
School performances can be booked for this production.
