Cut off from the outside world, the young woman lives in a magnificent villa. A sadistic nobleman and his mute servant are her only company. When dark dreams begin to torment her and she finds a mysterious diary, she gradually discovers the terrible secret of her captivity.
Simona Turini tells of the legendary fate of the Dark Countess, a real historical figure about whom only a few facts have survived. Between illusion and reality, she sketches a possible (or impossible?) solution to the mystery surrounding the mysterious figure. The SoundKONStruction Ensemble of the Badisches KONServatorium under the direction of Frank Thomé picks up on the atmosphere musically, reflects what has happened and continues the story. Various musical epochs and styles are incorporated in relation to the historical present of the main protagonist, which are further developed and alienated through improvisation. The audience can expect a captivating musical and literary evening in which the boundaries between present and past, between truth and fiction, are constantly blurred. Simona Turini has lived in Karlsruhe since 2016 and works as a freelance editor, author and translator. Her novel Kopf hoch, sagte der Silberfisch in der Badewanne was published in 2016. She organizes readings and concerts at KOHI Kulturraum.
