Coding da Vinci Kick-Off
Highlights
- Networking
- Exchange of ideas
- Joint project development
- Hybrid event
Germany's most successful hackathon for open cultural data: Coding da Vinci, the cultural hackathon, connects the worlds of culture and technology. Coding da Vinci is coming to Baden-Württemberg in 2022 and will once again demonstrate the surprising possibilities of open cultural data.
Are you fit in software development, graphic applications or design, do you hack, are you an artist, create games, work in media or are you "just" interested in culture and want to develop new ideas with like-minded people? Then Coding da Vinci Baden-Württemberg 2022 offers you the chance to get in touch with cultural institutions from your region to create new approaches to our digital cultural heritage: with apps, websites, VR/AR implementations, interactive installations, data visualizations or whatever else you can think of.
How does Coding da Vinci work?
Kick-Off Event
At the kick-off on May 7 and 8, 2022 at the ZKM Karlsruhe and online, representatives of the cultural institutions will present their datasets, explain their background and technical details and answer your questions. Afterwards, the stage is set for your project ideas: present your ideas and form teams with other participants. For the rest of the weekend, you will work on project ideas in your teams and together with the representatives of the cultural institutions, make plans and hack together!
Sprint phase and project development
After the kick-off, you have seven weeks to develop your projects. You are responsible for organizing coordination and meetings in your teams. During this time, Coding da Vinci offers you the opportunity to take part in cross-team meetups and input sessions with experts from the various fields and to exchange ideas.
Award ceremony
The award ceremony will take place on June 24, 2022 in the Dürnitz Kulturlounge at the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart. The teams will present their projects to the jury and the audience and the best projects in each category will be awarded prizes.
