Lale and Lilo now live in Germany. But why has the atmosphere at home been so tense lately? What's wrong with Mom? And what are the birds doing on the windows again? While Lilo and Dad argue at dinner, Lale tries hard to understand everything. But it's not just her family's language that doesn't make sense in her head—more and more things are disappearing from her life. At first it's just furniture, but soon she can't even rely on her own voice. Lale and Lilo have to find answers! Together they set off on a journey and fly away. In the middle of Turkey, the memories and words come back—just in time for the siblings to fight for them...

Author Yade Yasemin Önder invites the audience to embark on a journey of self-discovery and to explore the power of words through the poetic and luminous imagery she creates in both German and Turkish. Nominated for the Heidelberg Stückemarkt Author Award in 2020, Önder also won the Exil Playwriting Award in 2024 for this play.
