AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD
Their tenth studio album comes across as sprawling and concise, with a
leaning back and pushing forward at the same time. From the synth-orchestral wave of "Opening Crescendo", reminiscent of Hans Zimmer and Tangerine Dream, to "All Who Wander", a crashing, guitar-soaked drama seething with despair.

"Something Like This" is a reference to the ethereal songwriting that defined the sound of the legendary 4AD label, before "Into The Godless Void" gets to the heart of the matter - as wonderfully loud and exciting as an existential band anthem can be. And these are just the first four songs... It's hard to imagine that this eclecticism is anything but unintentional, but as founder, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Conrad Keely says of their music: "Songs have a life of their own. If you listen to them, they will tell you how they want to manifest themselves." The band's steady and strong work ethic has seen them release ten albums since 1994, and they have now delighted the world with their latest long player, once again manifesting their own unique blend of beauty and chaos. With a new line-up, AYWKUBTTOD have returned to the live format of their early years - founding members Jason Reece and Conrad Keely take turns on drums and frontman duties - a musical partnership that stretches back to their high school days. Fittingly, after more than 25 years, everything feels as fresh today as it did in their early days: They have timelessly preserved their incomparable spirit, far removed from any temporary trends.
